SIA Academy continues to make its way in women’s football. Their first team participated for the first time in the SPF Rush FutFem Tournament and could not have had better results. The players from the Enguera football academy managed to finish runners-up after losing in the final against Levante UD. Soccer Inter-Action left their mark on the tournament and many opponents congratulated our players for their good games and great play.
In the group stage, SIA Academy played their first three matches against Levante UD femenino, CFF Marítim and CD Castellón femenino. In the semi-finals they came up against Valencia CF femenino, whom they defeated. In the final, again, they had to face Levante against whom they could not win, a great tournament and a great experience for our women’s team.
SIA Academy Women – Valencia CF
The SIA Academy Femenino – Valencia CF was the best semi-final of the SPF Rush tournament, a very close match against one of the best teams in the Valencian Community. As a prize, to be present in the final of the tournament. The Soccer Inter-Action players had no doubts about their chances and went for the match. Valencia femenino did not make it easy, but in the end SIA Academy won 1-0 to reach the final.
It was a very even match. A priori, the ‘ché’ club were favourites but this is football and you can never give up on anyone. The SIA Academy girls showed their good game to beat the club from the capital of the Turia. The preparation and effort they had put in to prepare for the tournament paid off and they managed to reach the final.
SIA Academy Women – CD Castellón
Before winning the semi-finals, the SIA Academy players had a difficult group stage. The match against women’s CD Castellón was open and entertaining. The score remained even throughout the match and the same was reflected in the scoreboard. A 2-2 draw allowed the Soccer Inter-Action women’s team to continue in the fight to reach the semi-finals. There was one more opponent left in the group stage, CFF Marítim.
The match against the Albirroja had Lucía and Andrea Soler as protagonists. Both players were the scorers of the match and kept their hopes of reaching the next phase intact. Despite the difficult start to the tournament, the opportunity to reach the semi-finals was there. All that remained was to win in the last match of the group stage..
SIA Academy Women – CFF Marítim
The match against CFF Marítim decided whether or not the SIA Academy girls would advance to the semi-finals. Nerves were on edge but the players did on the pitch what they have been demonstrating every day of the league. They played fast football, connecting easily with the players up front to generate as many goals as possible. Proof of this was the final score of 3-1. The team was in the semi-finals of the SPF Rush Tournament.
It was a demanding match from the outset. A brace from Andrea Soler and a goal from Nuria settled the game in favour of the SIA Academy girls’ team. The whole team erupted in jubilation after the final whistle. They were in the semi-finals and would face Valencia CF for a place in the final.
Runners-up in the SPF Rush women’s tournament
The experience of the SIA Academy players in the tournament was incredible. The opponents they faced and the way they played showed the team’s ability. During this weekend, from the 15th to the 17th of April, women’s football was enjoyed at the highest level in the Valencian Community.
Sharing a weekend against LaLiga Iberdrola clubs and being able to reach the final is very valuable and the Soccer Inter-Action players showed their potential and their desire to continue growing. They stood up to all the teams and in the final, against a strong Levante UD femenino, they fought until the end to get the first place in the tournament.
SIA Academy women’s – Levante UD
The SIA Academy – Levante UD match was a great spectacle. All those present at the municipal facilities in Moncada, where the tournament was held, commented on it after the end of the tournament. The best possible image in a tournament of this level was given to the SIA Academy girls. Despite losing 3-1 in the final against the ‘granotas’, the way they played was praised by all the opponents.
The match was expected to be complicated but not impossible. Levante had beaten them in the group stage and now they met again in the final. Anything could happen. The strengths of both teams were equalised after two consecutive days of playing matches. Even so, the Levante women’s team showed their quality and with three goals confirmed their victory in the tournament.
Great football experience for our girls
The SPF Rush FutFemTournament experience allowed our girls to compete against higher level teams. It was a great atmosphere, meeting new friends and watching LaLiga Iberdrola youth teams play. A full weekend of experiences that was rounded off by the second place in the tournament for the SIA Academy women’s team.
Once again, it was demonstrated that the methodology followed at Soccer Inter-Action pays off. After the good performances of the men’s teams in the Villarreal CF Yellow Cup, the women’s team also showed their game in this tournament.
