SIA MASSANASSA CF TAKES ON VALENCIA CF AND LEVANTE UD
SIA Academy continues its strong commitment to women’s football. It does so with the help of SIA Massanassa CF. The club managed by Soccer Inter-Action enjoyed two days of celebration by hosting a triangular match between Valencia CF, Levante UD and the SeleccióValenta U21.
In addition, the players of the CDB SIA Massanassa school enjoyed a dream day. The SeleccióValenta U21 women’s team, the Valencian national team, signed autographs before training at the SIA Massanassa facilities. An enriching experience for the future SIA Academy players.
Triangular Setmana Valenta
The Setmana Valenta triangular tournament pitted Valencia Club de Fútbol, Levante Unión Deportiva and the Selecció Valenta U21 team against each other. The format of the mini-tournament held in Massanassa was three matches. Each team took on the other two opponents in an attempt to score as many points as possible.
The tournament held at the SIA Massanassa CF facilities was won by Levante UD. The Levante players won both matches to lift the trophy. The Selecció Valenta finished in second place, while the Valencian team came third.
Levante UD victories
Levante won the second match of the SetmanaValenta Triangular against Valencia CF by 2-3. It was thanks to a comeback from 2-0 down led by Sandra Luzardo and with two goals from Pomer. An electric duel that was won by the ‘granotas’.
The last match of the night was to decide the champion of the SetmanaValenta Triangular. Levante rose as champions with a short but effective 1-0 win. Sandra Luzardo scored the only goal of the game.
Massanassa, in gala dress
The Municipal Vicente Moreno was dressed to the nines to host the triangular tournament between the best players in the Valencian Community. The FFCV relied on the management of Massanassa and CDB SIA Massanassa to organise a tournament full of talented players.
Present were the mayor of Massanassa, Paco Comes; the president of the FFCV, Salva Gomar; and the sports coordinator of CDB SIA Massanassa, Jaime Martínez. The stands of the main field of the Poliesportiu Municipal de Massanassa were filled to capacity to watch the football spectacle.
Selecció Valenta U21 in Massanassa
The triangular tournament was not the only event organised by CDB SIA Massanassa at its facilities. On 8 March, Women’s Day, there was an autograph signing session and a training session by the SeleccióValenta U21 players at the Vicent Moreno Municipal.
The CDB SIA Massanassa players came with balls, shirts and other accessories so that the best Valencian U21 players could sign them. Afterwards, the SIA Massanassa CF players enjoyed a high-level training session.
Opportunity for women’s football
The signing session and training of the SeleccióValenta U21 at the CDB SIA Massanassa facilities is a magnificent opportunity for women’s football. These events offer the opportunity to bring futfem closer to men’s football with equal treatment and relevance.
In addition, watching the best Valencian U21 players play in Massanassa encourages the girls to sign up. CDB SIA Massanassa and SIA Massanassa CF are waiting with open arms for new players who want to take the step. No matter the level or age.
SIA Academy’s commitment to women’s football
SIA Academy has maintained its strong commitment to women’s football. Soccer Inter-Action came to CDB Massanassa and Massanassa CF last summer to renew ambitions and change the philosophy. Women’s football was a line to bet on and, now, the fruits are being harvested.
The reward for the hard work has been seen in the call-up of Antonia, Chilean player of the SIA Academy and who competes in the SIA Massanassa CF, with Valencia CF. Also Maite, a CDB SIA Massanassa youth player, has been called up to train with Valencia and Levante.
