Summer represents the ideal opportunity to improve the physical, technical and mental performance of any player. At SIA Academy we see it every season through our international summer camp 2026, which will take place between June 22 and August 15 in Valencia. During those weeks, hundreds of footballers arrive with the goal of training better, competing at a higher level and preparing for the new season with a professional methodology.

The importance of proper planning
Many players make the mistake of thinking summer is only for resting. Although recovery is necessary, it is also the perfect moment to correct technical details, enhance physical abilities and develop competitive habits that later make the difference throughout the season.
For any footballer, the key is not to accumulate meaningless hours, but to train with clear objectives. Planning should include physical sessions, work with the ball, recovery and enough time to avoid excessive fatigue. In this way, the body absorbs the workload better and the player maintains constant progress.
At our academy, we believe summer should combine intensity and learning. We design sessions adapted to every age and level, allowing each footballer to find the right environment to grow.
“Summer is not a break for the footballer who wants to compete better; it is an opportunity to move forward while others stop,” explains Frederico Pereira, sporting director of SIA Academy.

The value of training with quality
One of the most common mistakes is thinking that improving means spending endless hours on the pitch without a defined structure. However, efficiency appears when the player manages to work with specific exercises and real match situations.
For example, working on decision-making under pressure offers better results than repeating isolated movements without competitive context. The same applies to physical preparation: a personalized plan will always be more effective than generic sessions.
At SIA Academy we rely on a methodology where every task has a specific purpose. We aim for the player to understand the game, improve tactical awareness and increase competitive capacity both on and off the pitch.
In addition, summer is ideal for reinforcing aspects that are often limited during the season due to lack of time. Many footballers use these weeks to perfect individual technique, improve passing profiles or enhance reaction speed.
Physical preparation without losing contact with the ball
Physical preparation remains fundamental in modern football, but it must be connected to the game. Running without the ball can improve endurance, although the best results appear when the footballer manages to develop physical abilities within competitive situations.
At our camp, we work with integrated exercises that combine speed, strength and coordination alongside tactical decisions. The player improves physically while maintaining constant contact with the ball, something essential to transfer learning into real matches.
Another important aspect is injury prevention. During summer, many footballers increase workloads too abruptly and this often leads to muscle problems. That is why it is necessary to progress in a controlled way and respect recovery times.
Nutrition, rest and hydration are also part of performance. A player may have talent, but without taking care of these details, progress becomes much slower.

Competitive mentality makes the difference at training
The mental aspect directly influences a footballer’s development. Summer allows players to step out of their usual routine and share experiences with footballers from different countries, styles and competitive levels. This experience helps develop personality and adaptability.
At SIA Academywe consider it essential for players to learn how to live with daily demands. It is not only about playing well, but also about maintaining consistency, discipline and competitive ambition in every session.
“The footballers who improve the most are those who understand that every training session has a purpose and a competitive intention,” says Frederico Pereira.
Mentality also influences the ability to maintain intensity even during moments of fatigue or heat. Summer requires extra effort, but that is precisely why it can become an advantage for those who maintain focus and discipline.
A professional environment to grow
Choosing the right environment is decisive for any player who wants to evolve. It is not enough to have facilities; it is also necessary to have qualified coaches, individual monitoring and a coherent methodology.
During our international camp, we bring together footballers from different nationalities who arrive with the intention of growing in a professional and competitive environment. We provide tactical train sessions, physical preparation, performance analysis and international coexistence, creating an experience very close to elite football.
In addition, Valencia offers ideal conditions to train during the summer. The climate, facilities and sporting atmosphere make the experience a unique opportunity to continue growing both on and off the pitch.
Summer can mark the beginning of a great season if the player knows how to make the most of it. The difference is not about doing more than everyone else, but about working with intelligence, consistency and defined objectives. That is where real progress appears and where many footballers begin to build their next competitive level.
