What is COTIF?
The COTIF is the best grassroots football tournament in Spain, not only because of the large number of teams that participate in its different categories from prebenjamín to youth and women, but also because of the reputation and the level that this summer championship brings with it. For this reason, the recent success of SIA Massanassa is more than special.
The COTIF started in 1983, so this is the 27th edition of a championship that could not be held in 2020 because of the pandemic. In one week, the tournament held in L’Alcúdia attracts around 10,000 people every year, a remarkable figure in a town with only 12,000 inhabitants.
A large number of clubs take part in the COTIF. From the SIA Academy and SIA Massanassa to other leading clubs such as Valencia CF, Levante UD, Villarreal CF, Elche CF or even national teams such as Argentina, Spain or France in previous editions.
