The azulgranas drew in Terrassa and have now gone 6 matchdays without defeat
UD Alzira visited Terrassa FC on the last day in a match that ended up sharing the points. The Catalans dominated most of the game and took the lead in the 13th minute with a goal by Lucas Viña. The early goal of the rival modified the approach of Marc Garcia, Alzira’s manager. This modification paid off in the second half where they drew the game and almost got the victory. The highlight was that the team managed to score away and continue their positive streak.
UD Alzira did not play their best football in the first half and, as a result, the home side took the lead in the opening minutes. They continued to generate despite a slight improvement in the azulgranas‘ play, but went into the break with a minimal lead on the scoreboard. The goal scorers, Palacín and Pana, came on at the break to change the situation, but Terrassa were the team who were in control of the game and managed to widen the gap with a second goal in the 62nd minute from Gil Muntadas.
After the introduction of Mángel just after the goal, Alzira’s attacking projection began to distress the home side. Palacín found the net in the 68th minute, giving hope to the Ribereños. Alzira took advantage of the break to introduce Adrían Crespo into the game and, 4 minutes after the first goal, Pana put it into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. From then on, Marc Garcia’s team’s ambition was evident with attack after attack where they could not find the net. Laurel came on in the 87th minute to see if he could provide the missing point to end the comeback, but it was not to be.
UD Alzira took a point from Terrassa that keeps them out of the relegation zone, but it felt too little after the final minutes of the game. Palacín and Panadero sealed the match with very good feelings after the goals. Both had been warning in the previous matchdays with good performances, but without scoring a goal. In the next matchday, UD Alzira will face Valencia Mestalla at the Antonio Puchades stadium in a game that will decide who deserves to be out of danger and who does not.
