UD SIA Benigànim are still on a roll. The SIA Academy first team earned a valuable point against Athletic Club Torrellano, one of the strongest teams in the Spanish Third Division in the Valencian Community. The ‘ganxuts’ even came close to victory at various stages of the game.
The final result was a 3-3 that allows UD SIA Benigànim to maintain the good run of results. The young stars of Soccer Inter-Action were able to play against former Valencia CF players and one of the brothers of Saúl Ñíguez, Chelsea player and former Atlético de Madrid player.

UD SIA Benigànim – Athletic Club Torrellano was a great match. Both for the SIA Academy first team players and for the spectators who filled the stands of the stadium. The 3-3 final score saw lots of goals, beautiful play, continuous changes of winners and a great spectacle.
Txema, Iván García and Israel scored the goals that helped UD SIA Benigànim earn a golden point. Also noteworthy was the participation of Indian striker Siddarth Bapodra, who started for the third time in a row and added a lot of attacking play.-
What was the first half like?
The first half of UD SIA Benigànim – Athletic Club Torrellano was spectacular. A great game from both teams made the spectators at the Municipal de Benigànim enjoy themselves. It was in the 20th minute when the multiple chances turned into the first goal of the afternoon for SIA Benigànim, scored by Txema from the penalty spot.
With no time to digest the goal, Bernabéu made it 1-1 and put the score level again. Both teams took their foot off the accelerator as the tempo was too high. There were chances, although not as many as in the first part of the match, and in the end both teams went into the changing rooms with everything still to play for.
How did the second part go?
The rest of the goals in UD SIA Benigànim – Athletic Club Torrellano came in a heart-stopping second half. In the 60th minute, Iván García put the SIA Academy side ahead again, although Jony Ñíguez would later equalise from the penalty spot. In the 88th minute, the visitors came back with a goal from Lara.
Just when it looked like UD SIA Benigànim were heading for defeat, the youngsters from the SIA Academy came out of the blocks. Israel Ull made it 3-3 from the penalty spot to earn a golden point in a crazy game.
Playing against professional footballers
UD SIA Benigànim competed this weekend against Athletic Club Torrellano. This is a debutant club in the Spanish Third Division who are having a great season. The Alicante side are fighting for promotion to the Segunda RFEF in their first year.
UD SIA Benigànim’s draw is very commendable given the great season of their opponents and the players they have in their squad. Some of them have debuted in LaLiga Santander with Valencia CF. Others have competed for many years in the second division and are in their final years of their careers.
Rivals in professional football
UD SIA Benigànim have competed against players such as Chechu Flores, former player of Girona FC and CD Tenerife. He is a Hercules CF legend having spent multiple seasons with the Alicante club. He now competes for Athletic Club Torrellano against the future stars of the SIA Academy.
The ‘ganxuts’ have also been able to play against one of Saúl Ñíguez’s brothers. Jony Ñíguez currently plays for Torrellano, although he has previously spent several years in professional football. CD Guadalajara, CD Mirandés, AD Alcorcón, Elche CF and Rio Ave of Portugal are some of the clubs he has played for.
How to play in UD SIA Benigànim
The UD SIA Benigànim squad is always open to new additions. The SIA Academy team is integrated every year with players under 23 years of age who wish to take a leap forward in their sporting career. Soccer Inter-Action organises football trials to train with the team and earn a place in the Spanish Third Division.
Players such as India’s Siddarth Bapodra and the American Carlos Romagosa have already achieved this. Other players such as Roberto Laurel, formerly of FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, have also taken part in SIA Academy’s football tryouts. They are all successful in the Spanish third division with Soccer Inter-Action.
