Great experience at the Soccer Inter-Action facilities. UD SIA Benigànim took on FC Nordsjaelland last Saturday at the SIA Center. The Danish club plays in their country’s top flight and decided to compete against SIA Academy’s first team to get into a rhythm before the start of the campaign.
SIA Benigànimse kept up a high competitive tempo against professionals. The SIA Academy international academy players also had a starring role against elite football players. A unique experience to showcase their talent against the best footballers in Denmark.
How did the UD SIA Benigànim – FC Nordsjaelland match go?
The UD SIA Benigànim – FC Nordsjaellandf was useful for the SIA Academymatch to maintain their competitive rhythm. It was also useful for the Danes to test themselves before the start of the Danish Super League.
The experience and the values learned were most important. UD SIA Benigànim competed on equal terms from the first minute. In the first half they played with the most regular players in Tercera RFEF. Also in the second half with other players. The players from the SIA Academy international football school played a worthy match.
What was the first half like?
Most of the UD SIA Benigànim players were in the game from minute 1. The main goal was to stifle the opposing team so that they could not create good moves. US-American goalkeeper Carlos Romegos had a great game and even saved a penalty from the opposing striker. It was a jaw-dropping effort for the spectators and staff of both teams at the Soccer Inter-Action high performance centre.
How did the second part develop?
The second half saw a large presence of international players from the SIA Academy. They all had the chance to compete against a Danish Super League team. They all had the opportunity to feel professional on the pitch.
The match was more in possession of the Nordic team as they fielded a number of regulars in their league. Still, everyone enjoyed a unique experience thanks to Soccer Inter-Action. One of the many opportunities to become a professional footballer provided by SIA Academy.
Compete at the elite level at SIA Academy
The footballers who make up the SIA Academy’s international football school had the unique opportunity to compete against a Danish first division team. FC Nordsajelland played in the UEFA Europa League three years ago. Only nine years ago they were playing against Juventus FC and Chelsea FC.
FC Nordsjaelland is a very popular club in Denmark. Players such as Emre Mor, formerly of Borussia Dortmund and Celta Vigo, and Bryan Oviedo, who has played for Sunderland and Everton in the Premier League, competed there. A very big club that was able to play at the SIA Center.
Competing against Michael Essien
Another highlight of the UD SIA Benigànim – FC Nordsjaelland match was the presence of Michael Essien. The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon player, among others, is a member of the Nordsjaelland coaching staff. He followed first hand the actions of his team and UD SIA Benigànim.
