THE NEW “PRIMERA FFCV” FOOTBALL TEAM UD SIA ACADEMY STARTS THE SEASON AS A SUBSIDIARY OF UD ALZIRA
Two months ago, the alliance between SIA Academy and UD Alzira was announced, and they have been working together to prepare the players for this season. From training methodologies, technical support such as video-analysis tools to the availability of the academy’s facilities and its staff, have been of great contribution to monitor and objectify the work they are doing throughout the season, from a professional football prism.
How is the UD SIA Academy squad made up?
The new “Primera FFCV” football team UD SIA Academy as a subsidiary of UD Alzira starts the season with a balanced squad where youth and seniority add up in equal parts. The squad is mainly made up of young players who come from the youth category, where the UD Alzira División de Honor has provided the majority of players who go on to the Senior stage. This is the case of players such as Noel Riera, Mario Robledo, Rafa Segovia and Alejandro Guijarro. In addition to this, they complement the squad with experienced players who know the category well such as Gaby Fernández, Christian Peleteiro and Camilo Díaz.
What is the main objective of the new UD SIA Academy team?
Xavi Candel, coach of UD SIA Academy, said: “The main objective is to grow and improve day by day with a clear long-term goal. This newly formed team wants to be as close as possible to the first team of UD Alzira. Any newly created sporting project needs time to develop, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be ambitious. The aim of this project is to move up the ranks over the years”.
In sports management, Candel has been working alongside Rafa Asensio, Sports Director of the first team, to try to bring the highest quality to this project. Some of the team’s players actively participate in the 2RFEF team’s training sessions and can be called up at any time whenever the club deems it appropriate. It is an important motivation for these young players to have an ambitious goal for their future.
For the pre-season preparation, being a new team in its entirety, the players have been incorporated into the dynamic of the training sessions gradually.
The start of the league is about to begin, Candel, believes that this season will be very competitive, with historical rivals in the category such as Carcaixent and Alberic who have largely maintained the block of last season and have even improved significantly with high level signings.
“We must be aware of the reality of the team at the moment and the difficulty that comes with creating a new team from scratch, but I am sure that with our potential we will be competitive in every game and as the championship progresses our performance will be better. We are a young but ambitious team”. Candel detailed.
