After the great experience lived in 2022, Soccer By Design comes to Valencia again to spend a week in the facilities of SIA Academy, in which they will conduct a clinic so that their young players can live a high performance experience in Spanish territory.
This will be the second time that the Australian academy will share with our top coaches and staff, generating an atmosphere of camaraderie, knowledge and new dynamics with which they seek to continue growing and contributing to the development of youth talent in both Spain and Australia.
What is Soccer by design?
Soccer By Design is a soccer academy located in Australia, specifically in Adelaide and its surroundings, aimed at children from 6 years and older, which aims to “provide unsurpassed training for our future soccer professionals”.
There will be 17 young people, accompanied by 3 coaches, who will be at the SIA Academy, keeping in mind the premise under which they work: “We believe that our young Australians have a lot to offer, with the right training and mentoring, the sky is the limit as to what can be achieved”. The idea, at our Academy, is to help them accomplish that task.
What will you be doing?
For two weeks, the Australian delegation will have the opportunity to train daily on the natural grass and artificial turf fields of the SIA Academy, accompanied by gym routines, rest and other sports activities included in the schedule.
Additionally, they will have a cultural and relaxation time in which they will be able to get to know the city of Valencia and its main attractions, such as the city center, the Mestalla, Valencia CF’s stadium which is the oldest in Spain, and the Oceanographic, the largest aquarium on the European continent.

What is the difference between Spanish and Australian soccer?
In Spain, soccer is characterized by a style of play based on ball possession, technical control, short passing game and tactical creativity. Touch and ball control are valued, with an emphasis on playmaking and attacking play.
Meanwhile, in Australia, this sport has a different approach, because there the game is quite fast and dynamic, but with a focus on physical endurance and athletic ability, leaving a little aside the technical issue.
