On Friday, August 25, the pre-season friendly match between UD SIA Academy and UE Benifairó took place at the Pepe Puchades Stadium in Albalat de la Ribera.
It was another opportunity for the new players of the UD SIA Academy team to get to know each other on the pitch. Even so, we can say that although we struggled to settle into the game for the first 10 minutes, we managed to dominate the ball throughout the game.
How did UD SIA Academy stand out in the game against UE Benifairó?
We say that the UD SIA Academy team stood out in the match against UE Benifairó, because we created chances throughout the game, we were superior, and we went to the break with the only goal on the scoreboard.
Our academy players took part in this game, and they were valuable additions to the game of the team. Giacomo Brunati (centre back), Daniel Farkas (right winger) and Edgar Carranza (left winger). Edgar scored the third goal of the team in the second half.
How were we in attack?
In attack we are starting to see the things that coach Xavi Candel wants. Players like Gaby Fernandez (midfielder) and Voro Rivera (right midfielder) to attack the opponent’s goal and look for chances.
Although defensively, we lacked things to improve, knowing how to defend the balls, the direct play that the other teams do, in transitions we were good, we were able in two or three passes to get into the box and create another chance. The goal came thanks to a steal in midfield, a quick transition and being able to score 1-0.
Which players stood out in the match?
As outstanding players, Fernandez, he was in midfield, he dominated the whole game, he knew when to accelerate, try to look for passes to accelerate the ball. As well as Noel Riera (right back) who played as a defender, he had a very good outlet for the ball.
“In this match we won 3-1, it is the second match we have played as a team, we lacked some aspects of how to defend against the rival attack and the weather did not help, very hot” were the words of the Physical Trainer Jordi Juan.
