SIA Academy enjoys a multitude of nationalities in residence. Many footballers from around the world travel to Spain to learn football at Soccer Inter-Action’s high performance centre. Even from as far away as the United Arab Emirates. This is the case of Vishnu Varman.
The 17-year-old SIA Academy striker talks about his experience at Soccer Inter-Action’s international football academy. From his past in Dubai to his first steps in Spanish football and why he decided to come to SIA. An experience to share with other players in the same position.
United Arab Emirates football in Spain
Football in the United Arab Emirates continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Still, the chances of making a career in professional football in the Asian country are very slim. The local league is still not competitive enough, so travelling to Europe is the ideal option for many young players.
This is the case of Vishnu Varman. He was born in India, but has lived in Dubai since he was a child. In the Arabian emirate, he took his first steps in the world of football, defending the interests of Al Matiya FC. He wanted to develop his potential in a higher league and therefore landed at Soccer Inter-Action.
Why choose SIA Academy
Vishnu chose SIA Academy over other academies for a clear reason. At Soccer Inter-Action you can compete in the Spanish Third Division with UD SIA Benigànim, SIA’s own club. Something that cannot be done in other international football schools. Neither in Madrid nor in Barcelona.
Vishnu Varman also admits to wanting to develop both on and off the pitch. SIA Academy was the ideal choice for this. Soccer Inter-Action’s facilities are packed with amenities, away from any distractions, so Varman could focus on football and studies.
Vishnu’s experience in Spain
Vishnu talks about football in his home country of the United Arab Emirates. He admits that there are players and fans who are very passionate about the sport, although it is not the most popular. Cricket, basketball and tennis play second fiddle to it. According to Varman, therein lies the problem: there are not enough people to develop Emirati football.
That is why he came to Spain dazzled by the opportunities offered by SIA Academy. Vishnu recommends any Emirati player to come to Soccer Inter-Action because of the many opportunities it offers. Being able to play for SIA Benigànim against Valencia CF or Villarreal CF is a big step.
What is Vishnu Varman like?
SIA Academy has several staff members who maximise the talents of each international footballer at the academy. Vishnu Varman is one of them. The Emirati player has a nutritionist, physiotherapist, physical trainer and specialised coaches to get the best out of him.
Xavi Mompó, coach of the academy and UD SIA Benigànim. Mariela Ramírez, nutritionist at SIA Academy; and Ximo Blasco, physical trainer at Vishnu Varman, talk about the player’s evolution.
Physical conditions
Ximo Blasco talks about the evolution that Vishnu Varman has experienced during his years at SIA Academy. He has greatly improved his specific endurance and strength. The Emirati player is only 17 years old and his physique is yet to fully develop. For this reason, Soccer Inter-Action’s fitness trainer maintains a long-term programme, which Varman is working hard to achieve.
Mariela Ramirez admits that Vishnu has a very good body composition. His sporting work at the SIA Academy has allowed him to develop and improve his muscle mass and fat percentage. This has led to an improvement in his athletic performance.
Tactical conditions
His coach, Xavi Blasco, highlights the offensive aspect of Vishnu when he works as a team. In the individual training sessions he carries out every morning, the Emirati player shows a great capacity for work. This has allowed him to continue to evolve and compete in the best way.
All the coaches at the academy admit that Vishnu is a player with a great capacity for sacrifice. His development has been spectacular and he still has a lot of room for improvement. His work at the SIA Center will open many doors to professional football in the future.
