Periodic evaluations that transform talent into high performance

In the competitive world of youth football, comprehensive player development has become a fundamental pillar in achieving peak performance. At SIA Academy, this principle is applied with rigor and professionalism through periodic evaluations that monitor, analyze, and optimize each footballer’s growth.

These evaluations go beyond on-field performance and encompass physical, technical, tactical, and psychological aspects. To carry this out, the academy relies on the active and coordinated involvement of three key departments: the psychology department led by José Luis, the sports department headed by Rafa, and the physical preparation department directed by Ximo.

A structured process and personalized evaluations

Evaluations are carried out periodically, following a pre-established calendar that enables the continuous collection of information on each player. This approach helps adjust training plans, identify areas for improvement, and recognize achievements—all with the aim of maximizing individual talent within a collective framework.

The process begins with data collection from various sources: direct observation during training and matches, specific physical tests, individual interviews, performance analysis, among others. The information is shared among the three departments to build a complete picture of each player.

The players at SIA Academy enjoy a process where every area plays a key role.

Sports psychology: the mental factor as a competitive advantage

José Luis, head of the psychology department, plays a key role in this process. His approach goes beyond assessing players’ emotional states. He works to develop mental skills such as concentration, resilience, self-control, motivation, and stress management. Through interviews, questionnaires, and individual or group sessions, José Luis can identify thought patterns that influence performance, as well as psychological barriers that may hinder player growth.

During the evaluations, aspects such as self-confidence, attitude toward competition, commitment level, and teamwork skills are assessed. These variables, often invisible in statistics, are crucial for long-term sporting success.

Additionally, the psychology department works closely with families and coaches to ensure consistent communication and a strong support environment, which is key to the players’ personal and athletic development.

Technical-tactical analysis: the core of football performance

The sports department, led by Rafa, is in charge of analyzing each player’s technical and tactical performance. Through video recordings of matches and training sessions, as well as direct observation, Rafa and his team evaluate ball control, decision-making under pressure, positioning, and tactical adaptability.

Each evaluation offers a clear snapshot of the player’s strengths and weaknesses. This allows for tailored training sessions to work on specific areas, helping the player evolve according to their profile and position.

One of the department’s most valued traits is the player’s ability to learn and adapt. For this reason, feedback is not just corrective but formative. Each evaluation is an opportunity for learning and a roadmap for personal growth.

Physical preparation: the foundation of a complete athlete

Ximo, head of the physical preparation department, leads the evaluation of players’ physical abilities. Through endurance, speed, strength, agility, and flexibility tests, his team obtains precise data on each footballer’s physical condition.

These evaluations help adapt workloads and prevent injuries, one of the major challenges in youth football. Additionally, physical progress is measured over time, which allows for assessing the effectiveness of the implemented training programs.

But Ximo’s role goes beyond fitness. He also educates players on nutrition, sleep hygiene, and recovery, promoting healthy lifestyle habits that enhance performance.

Teamwork to shape professionals

What sets SIA Academy’s evaluations apart is their multidisciplinary approach. The psychology, sports, and physical departments work closely together, sharing information and recommendations. This ensures that each player receives personalized and holistic attention.

Department heads meet regularly and also hold individual sessions with players, who receive detailed reports outlining progress, areas for improvement, and short- and medium-term objectives. This transparency ensures that the player is aware of their development and actively involved in their formative process.

ANUAL PROGRAMME

Periodic evaluations at SIA Academy are far from routine checklists. They represent a commitment to excellence, growth, and the comprehensive development of each footballer. Thanks to the leadership of professionals like José Luis, Rafa, and Ximo, the academy not only produces technically skilled players, but also well-rounded individuals with resilience, balance, and a winning mindset. In modern football, true talent is the kind that’s nurtured, understood, and developed from every angle.
