AN INTENSE AND FUN WEEK OF FOOTBALL
We conclude the Easter 2021 football day camp, after a week of lots of football and fun.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION – COVID TEST
Once again we arrived at that time of year, the Easter week football day camp, all taking into account the measures established to guarantee the safety of all participants. Therefore, COVID tests were carried out on the entire coaching staff, as well as on each and every one of the day camp attendees. Health check-up was ok.
OWN METHODOLOGY BASED ON TACTICAL PERIODIZATION
The methodological department distributed different contents to work throughout the week, and thus be able to create workable content that eases the learning process of our players.
The process conceded of the players beginning the days with a technical warm up, focusing on the micro aspects of the game, such as the orientation of the body while receiving the ball, where, when and how to make contact with the ball, etc.
In this warm up the tactical component that was going to be worked on throughout the day was introduced.
COMPETITION IN MODIFIED SOCCER MATCHES
Once this warm up was completed, a progression of drills were carried out until the transition the a modified game was able to be achieved smoothly.
In order to guarantee quality in the teaching-learning process, the players were divided into small groups during the first drills. Doing so, being able to have a more individualized improvement, later to carry out larger groups and work in larger spaces and contexts closer to an official match.
COMPLEMENTARY LEISURE ACTIVITIES
To end the morning session, more enjoyable drills such as a Roland Garrós tournament were introduced during the different days, where the players competed in a football tennis tournament or a human version of Among Us. An initiative that seems very important to us, since the latest studies of the Gasol Foundation reveals one of the most important problems of today in young children is sedentary lifestyle, all due to new technologies and video games.
With this initiative, we intend to teach players to take another approach to physical activity with the real life Among Us game. The players had to complete missions such as squats, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. while debating who the impostor was.
COOKING WORKSHOP WITH THE NUTRITIONIST
During the all-day SIA Easter soccer camp, nutrition and cooking was taught to the young players to show the importance of what is or should be consumed by soccer athletes. Small groups of cooking workshops were held with our nutritionist and two our lady guides, to explain the importance of how a good diet leads to a proper development of growth and the correlation of injury prevention, all while also ensuring safety to the little children in the kichen.
Thanks to each and every one of the participants, as well as their families. Hopefully each and every one of them enjoyed as much or more as we did! See you in summer!
