SIA Academy is an international football academy that welcomes young players from all over the world. India is one of the most represented places in Soccer Inter-Action. The high quality of its players and the few opportunities they have in their country make them jump to Europe early to become professionals.
This is the case of Anirudh Krishnamurari. The young Indian footballer talks about his experience for SIA Academy. Despite his young age, the striker already has experience competing against Danish first division clubs. He will also play in the Villarreal Yellow Cup against FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Indian player at SIA Academy
Anirudh Krishnamurari is one of many Indian players who share a team at the SIA Academy. The young striker wants to follow in the footsteps of his teammate Siddarth Bapodra, a striker who has already earned a place in the Spanish Third Division with Soccer Inter-Action’s own club, UD SIA Benigànim.
Krishnamurari explains his origins and ambitions. How he came to Spain, why and what his experience with the SIA Academy has been like. Krishnamurari talks in detail about his time at Soccer Inter-Action and invites any young player from his country to trust SIA to become a professional footballer in Spain.
Anirudh’s story
Anirudh Krishnamurari is a young player born in Chennai, a city located in the south of India. As a youngster he played for FC Madras, one of the most important grassroots football clubs in his city. After three years he decided to make the jump to Europe to reach the highest level. The SIA Academy was his choice.
The reason he made the leap was to seek professional training and to play matches at a high level. Spain was the ideal country for Anirudh. The SIA Academy was the ideal place for Anirudh. Spanish football has players of the highest level and Krishnamurari wanted to follow in their footsteps and improve himself to become a professional.
Why choose Spanish football?
Spanish football is a mirror in which many young footballers are looking at to become professionals. Spain is a country with a great football tradition, with many tactics to learn and a very characteristic way of playing. Anirudh fell in love with the way the Spanish played with the ball and passed it.
So Anirudh Krishnamurari started looking for international football academies in Spain. The one most recommended by former players, coaches and football scouts was the SIA Academy. A phone call and an email convinced him to try the SIA Centre. Soccer Inter-Action was the ideal place to take the final step.
Football in India
Anirudh himself admits that football in India is progressing in popularity. It is not easy to do so in a country where cricket is so entrenched. Recently, the Indian Super League has been set up, where some senior foreign players finish their careers. Some young domestic players also take it as a first step.
In any case, Krishnamurari says India has very good players, but there is a lack of infrastructure and opportunities to make them shine. The SIA Academy is a unique place to give them what they lack in India. Soccer Inter-Action’s high performance centre offers natural and artificial turf pitches, gymnasium, video analysis room and recreation room.
Physical aspects
Ximo Blasco, physical trainer at the SIA Academy, analyses Anirudh. He recognises that he is a very young player, so specific strength work has been designed for his age. He is not fully developed, so the focus has been on coordination issues. His development will be linked to his growth”.
In addition, Ximo Blasco has drawn up an individual plan so that Anirudh can play as many minutes as possible without injuries truncating his continuity. This is the main objective for a growing and developing player like Krishnamurari.
Tactical aspects
Xavi Mompó is one of the coaches of the SIA Academy international team. He conducts the training sessions in which Anirudh participates. Mompó knows the Indian player’s football details to perfection. His great capacity for work and understanding of the tactical issues that are worked on individually stands out.
In addition, Xavi Mompó praises Anirudh for his ability to transmit motivation to his teammates. These values are reinforced at the international SIA Academy and allow them to bring out the best in each player.
