Bahrain premieres at COTIF with victory
The Asian team is superior to Mauritania in the first match of the tournament
The opening match of the 2019 edition of COTIF did not disappoint. He starred in two teams with spells, which showed that they have come to l’Alcúdia to fight for every ball in liza. Mauritania and Bahrain are two teams formed by young players with the whole future ahead. For football players aware of the opportunity they have when participating in this competition. They know that the Els Arcs field is a window to professional football. At ten o’clock at night – the schedule, with no delay in between – began to play the compasses of the national anthems of both squads. Five minutes later, after the forced protocol, the ball was already stealing through the grass. It was combined Bahrain, in a red uniform, who was in charge of the initial serve.
The initial minutes, as usual in these meetings, were scoring, with both teams studying the opponent. In the first half, Yassime Benmasour stood out above the others, the 10th of Bahrain. After a ride of merit, he left for the memory a pass to the hole that ended in goal of his partner Nemer in the 23rd minute. However, the referee canceled it out of play. All players with 10 behind are required to be different. To distill magic.
After the initial hesitations, Mauritania began to let go and show his powerful physique. Proof of this were the two occasions they chained in the 24th minute. A distant foul surprised Bahrain’s goalkeeper for his strange pot, although he managed to stop the ball with difficulty. The back corner ended with the ball hitting the stick.
As expected, Bahrain 10 starred in the next danger move. An indecision of the defense of Mauritania ended with a center-shot of his that left little. The first half ended with the first substitution and the first card: Sarr (Mauritania) hit an opponent who escaped through the band and received the yellow card as punishment.
The second part was quieter. Both teams were reluctant to open ranks and the match was gradually locked. The carousel of changes, with up to four at a time, caused the game to blur. The entry of new players brought strength and the tone of the match hardened. The fate of the match changed on the 23rd of the second half, when a Mauritanian defender measured badly and swept an omnipresent Benmansour. His partner Alromaihi cheated the goalkeeper and threw down the center and satin. His goal was worth the win.
In the 75th minute Benmasour reappeared with a dangerous shot, but met the rival goalkeeper. Everything was decided with Mahdi’s goal in the 82nd minute, after an assist from a Khalifa incisor. The forward starred in a class maneuver, getting rid of the rival and marks a goalkeeper already sold
Oleg Levin’s pupils finish the game in the final minutes of the first half
Russia beat Bahrain 5-1 in a match that was decided in the last five minutes of the first half. Sadulaev and Suleimanov made a difference to an Asian defense that could not stop them at any time. Both teams faced the game with very different dynamics: the Asians won Mauritania 2-0 in their debut and the Baltics lost for the same result against Spain in their first game of this year’s edition. The meeting was then presented as a kind of thermometer to measure the possibilities of both teams. And he did not disappoint. The conclusions are clear. The fate of the initial serve fell on Russia and Oleg Levin’s pupils entered the turf determined to strike first. Thus, at nine seconds they added their first occasion. A long ball thrown from the defense resulted in a close shot that the Asian defense managed to save in extremis. Both teams then began measuring their forces, displaying high pressure that made it difficult to run the game. An indecision of Bahrain’s goalkeeper resulted in a new scare and a blow with one of his teammates, which caused the first change. With the game stopped, Muñiz Ruiz decided to consult the VAR after glimpsing what had happened after several struggles in the Russian area and the subsequent viewing caused him to decree a penalty in favor of Bahrain. Alromaihi was the chosen pitcher and his shot was blocked by Poletaev, but the Asian 23 scored after winning the goalkeeper’s rejection. It was the 10th minute of the game and Bahrain was ahead on the scoreboard.
It was then that the Russian roller began to engage, with a stellar Sadulaev who took control of the game from the left wing. Bahrain tried to get rid of the rival domain with distant shots, but the control was of the team that wore a red jacket. After several failed occasions, Korstov matched the score with a right from the crescent that fooled the goalkeeper. The Russian machine began to carburete. And in a few minutes he finished the game. In 37 the Lokomotiv Suleimanov player advanced his team, in 38 Sadulaev left a great play and scored with a shot to the long stick and in 42 Suleimanov signed his double after a braided play from the left. Russia already owned the meeting.
The second part was much quieter. Both teams were aware that the score was decided, so the pace of the match matched. The carousel of changes, habitual in the second parts, also helped to blur the game little by little. Failed and inaccurate passes took over the game and only flashes of some players were appreciated, such as some isolated ride from Benmasour, on the 10th of Bahrain, impotent against Russian defensive engineering. The match ended with a last goal from Sevikyan, who signed the 1-5 in the 80th minute. Russia showed its best face. It is a team that can go from less to more in the tournament.
La Rojita controls all phases of the match without excessive efforts
Spain beat Bahrain (2-0) after dominating all phases of the match. La Rojita is perched at the top of the table and dreams of being in the final of the 2019 edition of COTIF. Both teams reached the seventh day of the 2019 edition of COTIF tied to points in the standings, having added one victory each in their first two games. However, the equality in the classification was not transmitted in the field: Spain passed over the Persian team and showed credentials to be in the final. David Gordo, national coach, played a sanction match for protests in the locker room tunnel after the game against Argentina and Pablo Castillo took his place on the bench watching as his pupils dominated the match from start to finish.
La Rojita dressed in white and gray yesterday – they played as visitors – and from the beginning it was known superior. Gradually the chances came, with a first distant shot from Beñat in minute 2 and a subsequent shot from Baena as the first occasions of consideration. Diego Collado, league champion with Villareal, then took the witness in the Spanish attack, but his shots – some at close range – could not find the net. The team forgave again and again before an orderly and serious Bahrain, but very aware of its limitations. Spain was better technically and physically, but the electronic did not move. In the end it was Marc Tenas who opened the can, after connecting a center-shot of his teammate at Atlético de Madrid Cedric, in the 26th minute. Spain percused again and again, moving the ball and being faithful to the style of the absolute team that became world champion under the tutelage of Vicente del Bosque: based on random game patterns and quick associations that end up surpassing the rival in his field.
Fruit of the domain and good work of the selection came the second goal, initialed by Collado, which this time did focus the peephole correctly and finished off a center launched from the right by Casas. Spain widened the distance and dominated pleasure. The script of the party was already written before an Asian squad that barely disturbed Fortuño. Only Benmansour, with a shot after a rejection in a foul, looked shyly. The Asians lacked gunpowder against a much better rival.
A quiet football match
Life remained the same in the second part, with Spain commanding the green thanks to its controlled and leisurely game and with Bahrain defending itself as it could. Tenas starred in a slightly orthodox shot on his back in the 43rd minute after a side foul, which left shortly. And the game, weighed down by the usual carousel of changes in the second half, relaxed as the minutes passed. The rush of the selection yesterday visitor followed but the goals shone by his absence. Baena signed one of the best plays of the second half with a shot of merit that the Persian goalkeeper stopped after a notable stretch in the 27th minute. Over and over again, La Rojita moved the ball correctly, but the goal did not come. Spain took a rent of two goals, perhaps low given the domain shown.
