VIF LEAGUE FOURTH MATCH
SIA Academy’s fourth match of the VIF League tournament was against International Development Academy (IDA Valencia Navy). With this match, the first part of the VIF League 2023 tournament came to an end, giving the players a short break for the holidays and to celebrate the Christmas holidays at home with their families.
The first 15 minutes of the match started with a little bit of superiority from the opponent, but the SIA Academy team was able to recover and started to become a very balanced team defensively.
After a few months of intensive high performance training since the start of the SIA Academy Annual Programme, this match showed the good evolution of the players.
On defense, this match reflected certain factors that they have been working on during this time, which are important for their evolution and improvement. A compact block when defending with situations of transitions of the other team that knew how to orientate the rival, being well positioned in the defensive aids of some teammates with others.
Offensively, they had their chances and possibilities. After a very good transition, with a pass into space by Mauricio and a breakaway move by Trai, who put himself in a position to make a good cross for Daniel, which the defence of the opposing team, with the intention of stopping it, put a goal in their own goal.
In the second half, as always, the coaching staff made changes, so that all the boys could participate in the matches. The team continued to be very good on the pitch with their defence. Everything they worked on to maintain the structure they used, worked quite well in certain phases of the match. Although some of the opposition’s individuality meant that they conceded a few more goals.
Rafa Navarro, comments: “In general, the players are learnin those “team patterns” that we have been training during the months of the SIA Academy Annual Programme. This evolution of demand can be seen on the pitch”.
“Individually, there are kids who are beginning to cover the objectives that are being set in the methodology to improve and who are assimilating it easily, and others that we will obviously continue to work on to keep improving” said Navarro.
