The SIA Academy players played their last game before the Christmas break. After these first four months of training, expectations are rising. The player’s progression is also noticeable in the technical and tactical aspects that they work on during the week.
The opponent for the match was IDA Valencia, a football academy that only has American players. They stand out for being older, so physically they are also more developed than our players. The match took place at the Mas Camarena Resort, IDA’s usual training ground.
What was the IDA Valencia – SIA Academy like?
The match started off very competitive. Soccer Inter-Action players had more control of the ball, although there was a lack of chances in the box. Possession was clear for our team. The defence was very serious on the ball and conceded very few chances to their opponents. The midfield was able to find space between the lines to get past the opposition and that was the great danger for SIA.
Also key was the physical condition of our players to last the whole match. The work that has been carried out by the physical preparation department allows them to compete at high intensity during the 90 minutes. This was noticeable in the game, being the protagonist with the ball for a large part of the match.
Progress of the players
After each game, the coaching staff’s conclusion is clear: there has been a constant improvement. The players have been growing with each experience they have had. The different matches of the season help them to get to know different contexts and prepare for the next matches. This means that each match is better than the previous one in terms of play, movement, attitude and knowledge of the game.
Thanks to the methodology developed by SIA Academy, the player progresses in all aspects of the game. Planning at the beginning of the season on all the concepts that will be trained during the year allows this evolution to be much greater. The feedback from all the technical staff is also a plus for the player to learn how to think in every situation.
Facilities of Mas Camarena Resort
The Mas Camarena facilities, located near Valencia, have courts for different sports. You can play football as well as tennis or basketball, so it is not an environment focused 100% on football. In addition, it is difficult for players to live nearby because of the limited accommodation. This means that they have to make many trips every time they go to train.
The difference with SIA Academy is big. Everything is integrated in our facilities. You don’t have to leave the facility to go about your normal routine. Whether it’s training on natural or artificial turf, going to the gym or having lunch and accommodation, everything is carried out in the same facility. The only daily transfer is for players who study at the British School in Xativa.
What is IDA Valencia Soccer Academy?
IDA is an international football academy made up of North American players. They are players over the age of 18, studying online or doing a gap year. As mentioned, they train at Mas Camarena but do not all reside there. They stay in rented flats in different areas of Valencia.
Because of these conditions, it is difficult for them to play in the federated leagues. This makes it more difficult for them to continue their training. A different case is that of the SIA Academy players, as most of them participate in the leagues that are played every weekend.
Football scholarships to study in USA
One of the opportunities in football are scholarships to play in the United States. Due to the high cost of studying in North America, many universities give scholarships to top-level sportsmen and women. In this way, they can continue playing the sport they love and study at a renowned university. But this is not easy.
