THE FC PORTO SUMMER CAMPUS IS INAUGURATED
The 2020 edition of the Summer Campus is already a reality at Soccer Inter-Action’s elite sports facilities, which have been thoroughly prepared under the relevant sanitary measures.
The FC Porto Dragon Force World Camps are football training camps run by FC Porto coaches. The camps take place at the facilities of the international partner.
One of the most important Summer Football Camps in Spain is here. Soccer Inter-Action, official partner of FC Porto in Spain, has once again organised its renowned football camp in Spain with the aim of continuing to develop the talent of young players. The SIA High Performance Centre, located in Enguera (Valencia, Spain), has been prepared with all the sanitary safety measures and the ball has started rolling on its different pitches.
With a training programme designed for the occasion and customised due to the health requirements, the FC Porto 2020 Summer Campus has the novelty of being completely internal, which means that all players will stay and reside at the High Performance Centre with full board. In this way, not only are the sanitary measures more extreme, but also the integration of all the players is favoured, who will share time and space with the players of the Soccer Inter-Action International Football Academy, who are finishing their annual training programme.
What does the FC Porto Football Camp programme contain?
One of the main pillars of the FC Porto Summer Football Camp is high-performance training. With the mission of getting the best out of each player, the coaches have prepared a week of Football Camp full of sessions on the pitch. In fact, there are three training sessions that take place throughout the day, all of them, of course, adjusted in time and pace of play, always taking into account the weather conditions. The first session of the day is the most intense, followed by a second session of more tactical work. The third session, which takes place in the afternoon, is the players’ favourite thanks to its purely competitive nature and where each player will score points in order to finish the FC Porto Football Camp in Spain leading the ranking.
The programmes are developed for players aged 12 to 22 years old.
The training sessions of the World Camps help develop and improve the technical-tactical skills of the participants and give them more and better answers to the problems that occur during matches.
The knowledge of the local coaches can also be developed through the theoretical and practical sessions developed by the FC Porto coaches.
In parallel to the sessions on the pitch, the coaches and other professionals of Soccer Inter-Action have prepared different complementary activities to the high performance training..
What are these complementary activities to the high performance football camp?
Video analysis, recreational English classes and specialised football classes, nutrition workshops, water games, psychology exhibitions and, of course, leisure tournaments for free time, with the highlight being exciting games of table tennis.
COVID-19 test for player control
The first day of the Football Camp in Spain was a great novelty with an exhaustive medical analysis for each player. Two doctors travelled to the Soccer Inter-Action High Performance Centre and before the first training session, all the players went to the SIA Clinic individually to undergo not only the respective stress tests – including an electrocardiogram – but also a COVID-19 serological test.
The health prevention work that has been carried out at the High Performance Centre, together with the cleaning and hygiene measures of Soccer Inter-Action, has been commendable throughout the entire confinement and the great work carried out has helped the International Football Academy to become a benchmark for management during this time of health crisis. In fact, the SIA Center’s football interns have continued with their annual training programme without a hitch and without any risk of contagion.
To be a professional footballer, the weekly diet of the athlete must be balanced for their age and the effort they make. The diet for children at the FCPorto camps in Spain is also strictly controlled, as is hydration during training.
